- You will eat exactly what you like. As long as you stick to your calorie budget for the week, eat the foods you love. There is no deprivation here
- To stick to your calorie budget you will either track your food using a free app, use my easy meal plans, or use my easy plug and play food lists
- I do not sell supplements or products and I’m not affiliated with anyone. I teach you to become the expert eating regular food you can buy in the supermarket. No superfoods are required. I will not be pushing products on you. There will be no shop at my club.

- No forced weigh-ins. Some people hate being weighed and find it humiliating to be weighed publicly. If this is you, don’t worry at all, you don’t have to be weighed. There is an opportunity in the middle of the session to weigh yourself, measure yourself or have progress photos taken. You don’t have to do any of this. Instead you can just stay seated or go and make yourself a hot or cold drink. You can weigh yourself without anyone seeing your weight and monitor your own progress, or ask for accountability if you need it. You’ll still get so much out of attending the sessions without weighing yourself. The best time to weigh yourself is first thing in the morning, so you can do this at home if you have scales, or access the scales in the group if you want to.

- Accountability Groups. There is an online WhatsApp group to upload your daily progress to help you stay accountable. We have a separate group on WhatsApp and Facebook to chat and ask questions.
- You don’t get kicked out if you can’t attend a meeting. You will continue to pay for your membership in the group whether you attend or don’t attend because we have overheads to cover and can only support a certain number of people in each group. Because of that, our groups will never get too large. Everyone misses meetings from time to time and that’s perfectly OK. Life happens. Just attend when you are able to. And if you can’t make an in person meeting, you can join the online meeting so you don’t have to miss out. (I will be taking 6 weeks holiday off per year, which might mean the doors to the club will be closed for 6 weeks per year, but rest assured I am looking for some volunteers to help me so we never have to close our doors to members).
- You can cancel your membership anytime, and you can do this yourself or ask for help, but you might not be able to rejoin very quickly as we have a waiting list of people who are waiting for a space to become available.
- No weigh-ins and running off. We don’t want people to turn up to be weighed and leave again. The focus of this group isn’t how much weight you’ve lost or gained each week. It is a group where you will make friends, and become a weight loss expert yourself, and you can choose whether or not you want to be held accountable. If you’re able to come, I encourage you to stay for the whole session because you will leave in a much more positive place. If you only came to weigh in and then leave, if you do happen to have gained weight, you’ve only left with something negative, and that’s never helpful. If you do need to leave early though, that’s no problem.
- No forced attention. We will never highlight you in front of the group without prior permission. We don’t force anyone to speak in front of the group if they don’t want to. We don’t go around the group giving everybody their 5 seconds of fame. It’s your choice if you speak in the group, and if you prefer to relax and avoid speaking, you are more than welcome to do that. All personality types are welcome at this group. I would never want to make anyone feel anxious by forcing them to speak publicly and defend their weight, which can be humiliating for some people.
- No food is banned or bad. Although there are certain foods that are good for your health and make weight loss easier, and other foods don’t have these benefits, we are not going to label any foods as bad or wrong because that creates an unhealthy relationship with food. Enjoying food socially is a healthy and enjoyable way to live, so you don’t need to deprive yourself of some treats. But, as part of The SHRED System, we do focus on eating mainly simple, real, and natural food grown or raised on the earth rather than made in a factory. Losing weight is better for your overall health than anything else you can do, so focusing on a calorie deficit first and foremost will make the biggest impact on your weight and health.
- No having to bring food items or prizes with you. I will provide prizes, I don’t expect members to have to do this themselves.
- Weight loss is celebrated in the longer term. It is natural and normal for your weight to fluctuate up and down every single week. I don’t want anyone to ever have a ‘bad’ week just because their weight has stayed the same or gone up, because this is healthy and normal. So we celebrate weight loss based on an average of the last 4 weeks because this is the best way to truly see if you’re making progress or not. And you can keep your weight loss private if you choose to do that.
- The club is shaped around what members want. The structure of the group and activities that we do in the group can be shaped by you. Tell me what you enjoy and don’t enjoy and we will change things. If enough people don’t like the way we do things, we will make changes. We will try and incorporate a variety of different activities to make it fun for everyone.
- No big queues or waiting around for weigh-ins. In the Shredders Connect Club we will do some fun group work, chat and make new friends, or quietly get on with an activity or make a drink while people are being weighed, one group at a time so there will be no boring wait times or long queues. This is a social space, and if you want to make friends, you will do. And if you prefer to keep yourself to yourself, you can do that too.
- Make friends easily: Because you are going to be sitting at tables with other people, you will make friends with different people each week, and everyone in the group will get to know each other. You will never be sat on your own without any friends. We are all friends in this group (even if we don’t see eye to eye, we respect our different opinions and personalities). We have socials, go on walks together, and help each other out in real life because that’s what real friends do. I only want to encourage people into this group who can accept other people, even though they do things differently to you. Some people are loud and others are quiet. If everyone were the same, life would be pretty boring!
- Targets are personal and not based on guesswork. You don’t need to guess how many calories you need to eat each day to lose weight. You will be given a calorie target and a Shredders Connect Personal Plan that will be exactly right for you. You can be confident that if you stick to your personal plan, it will work for you.
- The SHRED System weight loss approach is scientific and gets guaranteed results: A calorie deficit is what produces weight loss according to science and the laws of thermodynamics. If you stick to your calorie deficit you will get consistent results over the course of each month.
- No such thing as a free lunch: All meals and snacks contain calories so all foods can help you either lose weight or gain weight depending on the number of calories you eat in total each week. You can’t eat unlimited ‘free’ food that could contain a large number of calories and expect to get consistent weight loss results, no matter how healthy the food is.
- Simple Systems: You will not have to convert any food items into points to work out how much to eat. The easiest and most scientific method of weight loss is calorie counting. But if you aren’t a fan of calorie counting, don’t worry, I have done the hard work for you and provided you with food lists and meal plans for you to easily follow.
- Everyone is welcome no matter what your weight. Staying at your goal weight is the hardest thing about weight loss. For that reason, I encourage membership from people who have already reached their target and want help to keep it off. We don’t give free membership to people who have reached their goal because generally, people don’t value what they don’t pay for. And if something is free, people are likely to stop making it a priority. If you’ve lost the weight, you need to keep focused on eating the same way with slightly more calories. And that requires an even greater level of motivation and dedication from you. Don’t be resentful of people who have reached their goal but keep coming – let it inspire you and remember they need encouragement just as much as everyone else does. If you’re the type of person who gains weight easily, you’ll probably always be that way, and that means you can’t just go back to what you were doing and expect the weight to stay off. And when you reach your ideal weight, you may actually choose to gain weight by adding more muscle. This is called SCULPTING and adding more muscle is what will give you the biggest body transformation and good health.
