  • 1 medium banana / 118 g
  • ½ cup/ 72 g dark berries black berries, black currants, cherries
  • 8 cups/ 250 g spinach
  • 1 brazil nut
  • 1 medjool date
  • ¾ cup edamame beans / 116 g
  • Optional flavor & health enhancing ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric + a pinch black pepper activates the turmeric
  • Juice from 1 lemon or lime
  • 5 drops Orange/lemon/lime food grade essential oil
  • ½ teaspoon Almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon Amla powder
  • ½ teaspoon Blue spirulina powder if you want a healthy blue shake
  • ½ teaspoon Maca powder
  • 2 teaspoons Lucuma powder
  • 2 teaspoons Carob powder
  • 1 teaspoon Mesquite powder
  • ½ teaspoon Matcha green tea powder
  • ½ teaspoon Ginger or fresh ginger
  • ½ teaspoon Stevia or to taste

Notes

  1. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
  2. Note: as you are using a lot of spinach, if you are using fresh spinach you will have to blend in batches as it won’t all fit in your blender at once.  Blend with the water before adding any other ingredients.
  3. I personally use frozen spinach because it is cheaper and I can store more of it for longer.
  4. What I do is steep green tea in a jug for 3 minutes, then pour that over my frozen spinach. It wilts the spinach and makes it easier to blend.  You can also leave frozen ingredients to thaw first.
  5. If you are trying to lose weight, weigh or measure everything and eat similar foods every day to save time.
