Each recipe features step-by-step instructions to transform simple ingredients into flavorful, health-promoting meals that everyone will enjoy. Best of all, the dishes are 100% vegan and made from whole foods.

For kids or picky eaters, try the Sneaky Greens Chocolate Smoothie that includes a whole serving of spinach; it tastes like a chocolate milkshake and is 100% vegan with no added sugar!

These healthy recipes go way beyond steamed vegetables. For example, try the sweet and tangy Cashew Curry Sauce over chopped kale and you have a perfect lunch or dinner. Learn how to make a simple blended Basic Avocado Dressing that takes a romaine salad from average to exceptional.

My review of Vegan Delish

This was the first time I’d used any recipe app so I had no idea what to expect, but I find it extremely intuitive.  I could see all the recipes straight away or browse by recipe category.

I wanted to make a selection of recipes on Monday and wasn’t planning on going shopping for any special ingredients.  I was very quickly able to browse through some of the recipes that appealed to me and determine whether or not I had the ingredients to be able to make them.

Most of the recipes on Vegan Delish have very easy to find ingredients which I love as I don’t like buying any ingredients that I wouldn’t normally stock in my kitchen.

I was also able to read the reviews for each recipe to find out what other people though of the recipes which encourages me to make a particular dish if I know someone else also enjoyed it.

I then chose 5 recipes that I wanted to make and added them to my favourites.

When I took my device into the kitchen I was able to follow the instructions very easily.  All the instructions are clear, the recipes are quick and easy and get straight to the point.

I managed to make a day’s worth of meals in one and a half hours which is pretty good going I think.  Of course I had lots of leftovers for the next day so didn’t have to cook at all on Tuesday.  I made the following great recipes:

  • No Cook Apple Oatmeal: This is the nicest overnight oats I’ve tasted.  It had a lovely crunchy yet soft texture and each ingredient really held it’s own yet blended together very easily.  This took a couple of minutes to throw together.

No-Cook Apple Oatmeal

  • 4 Ingredient Hummus: This was so quick and easy and just as nice as the store bought ones that I used to love.  I had this with cucumber, carrot and celery sticks for lunch.

4-Ingredient Hummus

  • BBQ Baked Beans: These were so sweet and lovely with lots of sauce which I love in a baked bean recipe.

BBQ Baked Beans

  • Ultimate Tofu Burger: I’ve tried and failed to make so many vegan burgers in the past and had all but given up.  That was until I tried this burger.  Not only did it make my house smell gorgeous as it was cooking but it tasted amazing too.  So delicious with the beans for dinner.

Ultimate Tofu Burger

  • Chocolate Banana Bars: These were a lovely healthy treat for dessert.  I made a lot of substitutions as I was just using what I had left in my house but amazingly they still worked really well.  These are probably healthy enough that you could eat them for breakfast.Chocolate Banana Bars

As this is pretty much a whole day of food for me, I decided to submit this to What I ate Wednesday so you can get an idea of the types of foods I normally eat.

I always like to be honest on my blog and share the pros and cons of things that I try, which I intended to do but I honestly couldn’t find anything I didn’t like about this app.  I actually really want one myself for my own Green Thickies recipes as using an app like this is so much quicker and easier than trying to navigate a blog with your phone.  It honestly makes planning meals a joy!

So I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know that I have 3 of these to giveaway free.

To enter to win a free download of this app, please leave a comment on this post telling me how your current diet keeps you healthy or how you intend to change your diet to become healthier in the future.  I will randomly select 3 comments from everyone who leaves a comment on Wednesday 3rd April.  Giveaway is now closed.

Are you struggling to lose weight and keep it off?

Are you feeling run down and are struggling with ever increasing health problems?

Green Thickies new 7 Day Detox will help you drop a dress size, improve your skin, your energy will soar and you are going to be so in control and proud of yourself.

You won't go hungry on this diet ... And better yet - it actually requires minimal time in the kitchen.

Get results like this...

Hi Katherine,

I just wanted to tell you I completed the 7 day detox and I feel so great.

I have lost 6lbs, do not feel like I need more my morning coffee, the flushing of my facial skin from rosacea has dramatically reduced and I am so excited to wake up each morning and make a green thickie for breakfast!!

I am a stay at-home, homeschooling momma of 3 littles and at times so busy I would forget to feed myself!

I would go most of the day without eating and then snack on random things.

I gained 60 pounds the last 6 years during pregnancy.

I have lost 30lbs but recently plateaued and have felt so frustrated.

I’ve tried everything from paleo and keto to the point where I didn’t know what to eat or how much and felt like even eating fruit was bad for me which thankfully it’s not!

What a game changer for me. Thank you for sharing a simple but effective program.

I’m so excited to continue another week with this plan! Thankful Stephanie

I’m working to incorporate a diet with a lot less meat and a lot more fresh produce. I just joined weight watchers, but prior to that I have been drinking smoothies and juicing as well! Thank you for this chance!

I am moving towards a vegan diet and hope my choices will not only give me more energy to take care of my five-month-old son, but show him and lead by example so he may grow up nurturing his body with good food. x

This is JUST GREAT!!! :) Love the whole idea! Thanks!!

My current eating style (I try not to use the word DIEt – look at the first three letters *cheeky grin*) helps me to be happier and healthier by providing everything I need from majority fresh plant based foods with VERY minimal processed items… My food is colourful and DELICIOUS! I am 80% raw vegan and the transition for the past 10 years to this has CHANGED my life! I have lost 40kg, have a health and wellness business that teaches other people how to make similar changes and that fulfils may passion and purpose. I am bursting with energy and life!

I love your site – it is one I frequent regularly for new inspiration!! Although I use a FROOTHIE and not a Vitamix! ;)

Thanks again!! Your work inspires others and I hope that mine will be as popular one day!

As a carnivore of 40+ years, I’ve decided to put myself and my family on a track to veganism. It’s a slow transition, I admit, but I feel it’s the only way that I/we will be successful at it. Every week, I’m experimenting with and substituting more vegan meals into our rotation. I’m happy to have found your blog to give me further inspiration and motivation. We have also been on the green smoothie train ever since we bought a Vitamix 2 years ago…love it! Thanks!

I eat a pretty healthy diet. But I need to work on eating more raw nuts and fruits for snacks instead of chocolate and potato chips. I LOVE Carrie’s recipes, especially her Roasted Garlic Hummus. I would be thrilled to win her app!

My current vegetarian diet keeps me healthy because it’s not the type of vegetarian diet that simply lacks meat–it’s the type of vegetarian diet that concentrates heavily on delicious plant-based foods like brussel sprouts, carrots, avocado, & tempeh! In the future, I intend to reduce my consumption of dairy, especially cheese.
