5 Reasons Why You Can't Stick to Your Smoothie Diet PlanYou’ve been there, got the t-shirt and you don’t want to get burned again.

You’ve tried the smoothie diet, and it just didn’t work for you.

I’m here today to share 5 reasons your smoothie diet may not have worked for you and ask you to reconsider and invite you to try again.

Are you ready? Here goes:

  • You drank store bought smoothies. When you last tried a smoothie diet plan, did you buy pre-packaged smoothies in the store or did you use long life shakes or powders that you have to mix at home? That is a big problem when it comes to your health because all of these pre-packaged smoothies that have long use by dates are devoid of nutrients. And not only is there no antioxidants, or any goodness left in these smoothies, they are actually bad for your health. Just look at the ingredients list. Does is contain sugar? Is it as long as your arm, chock full of ingredients  you can’t pronounce? All junk! What affect this junk has on your body is it actually gives you sugar cravings and causes your body to cling on to the weight because your body actually thinks it’s in the middle of a famine because there are no nutrients to be found. So your body keeps sending the signal to your brain that it should eat something and fast! Let’s ditch these pre-packaged smoothies – they’re no good for us!
  • They didn’t fill you up. Most pre-packaged smoothies or even other healthy smoothie recipes aren’t actually suitable to be proper meals. They contain far too few calories and they don’t contain a balanced range of ingredients that actually fill you up, like natural protein sources. So more often than not, if you try to drink your average smoothie for breakfast, you’ll be hungry 1 hour later. And most of us just don’t have the willpower to last it out until lunch time when we spend all morning hungry.  
  • They tasted disgusting. There are far too many disgusting green smoothie recipes flying around the internet. You throw in a load of random vegetables and an apple or two and the result is something you can barely bring yourself to drink. So if it tastes bad you’re hardly likely to continue this revolting trend day in day out, are you?
  • They were too expensive. Have you ever bought one of these done for you smoothie cleanses where you get the smoothies made for you, or perhaps they sent you the shake mixes and you have to blend them up? If you have, you’ll know that they don’t come cheap! Paying a price like that would make me want to run for the hills, especially when I know how quick it is to make my own delicious recipes.
  • You ran out of recipes. Did you find one delicious recipe you love and couldn’t find any others? It can be time consuming searching the internet for recipes, and not know if they are any good or whether you should waste your ingredients trying them out.
