I drink Green Thickies every single day and that’s no secret.
In fact, I talk about the benefits of Green Thickies all the time.
They fill you up, they are a great way to get your daily greens in, they can be made ahead, and they are the perfect complete meal that’s portable, healthy, and delicious.
I can rave about green smoothies all day long, but what about green juices?

While I do drink green smoothies much more often than green juices, fresh juices do have a place in a balanced diet.
The main difference between smoothies and juices is the fiber. Fiber keeps you full, so that’s why a smoothie will keep you going for hours and hours and why, at the same time, you may feel hungry again not too long after drinking a fresh juice.
There is, though, one nice little benefit that comes from juicing.
Juices are highly concentrated in nutrients and vitamins and since the fiber has been removed by the juices and your body doesn’t need to break it down, these nutrients will enter your bloodstream pretty quickly and offer a nice little energy boost for whenever you need it the most.
Hands down the best occasions to treat yourself to a fresh green juice is when you’re feeling a little down or under the weather or after a strenuous workout.
You will feel your body getting a good shot of vitamins almost instantly!
I do have one very important pet peeve when it comes to juicing.
I always make sure to include lots of greens and hearty vegetables and I wash those out with a couple pieces of fruit and a slice of lemon to brighten things up.
You don’t want to be downing a glass of plain apple juice with no veggies as that will give you too much sugar. A good helping of veggies with a few pieces of fruit always gives me a good balance between nutrients and sweetness.
