Christmas in my house is never just one big meal.
We do have the big dinner where we set out the table with lots of delicious food, like lentil meatloaf and yummy sides and salads, but with the kids at home and jumping around presents and friends and family popping in throughout the day, food is being served 24/7 at Christmas.
Now, my biggest issue with this is that I don’t want to just serve the big meal healthy-style and let loose on everything else and keep opening boxes of chocolates throughout the day.
I prefer that my kids eat healthy, but even more so, I don’t want them getting too amped up on chocolate these days as there is just no calming down afterwards. They are like firecrackers on chocolate, they just don’t stop jumping around! (And don’t get me started on the sugar crash!)

My strategy for the past few years has been to batch cook a few healthy snacky things like cookies, muffins, bliss bars, and a few savory bits like spiced nuts.
I cook all of this a few days ahead as I don’t want to stress out making not only the big meal, but also snacks on Christmas day, so everything gets done ahead of time.
Then, on Christmas morning, I plate these up in decorative plates and platters and just set them out on my table. My kids will grab a bite if they get hungry and I know I have some delicious food ready to go for whenever someone pops up at the door.
I also love to munch on these during the day so I don’t end up eating way too much at the dinner table. This is my little secret Christmas strategy to avoid overeating.
So, if you’ve been wondering how to avoid the Christmas craziness of opening up one box of chocolates or sugary candy too many, I’ve got you covered.
These recipes will truly save your waistline during Christmas day, but also your mind as you won’t be stressing about everyone getting into a sugary craze.
Here are my top 10 Christmas-approved snacky recipes to get yourself into a (healthy!) holiday spirit.

Hi Katherine,I just wanted to tell you I completed the 7 day detox and I feel so great.
I have lost 6lbs, do not feel like I need more my morning coffee, the flushing of my facial skin from rosacea has dramatically reduced and I am so excited to wake up each morning and make a green thickie for breakfast!!
I am a stay at-home, homeschooling momma of 3 littles and at times so busy I would forget to feed myself!
I would go most of the day without eating and then snack on random things.
I gained 60 pounds the last 6 years during pregnancy.
I have lost 30lbs but recently plateaued and have felt so frustrated.
I’ve tried everything from paleo and keto to the point where I didn’t know what to eat or how much and felt like even eating fruit was bad for me which thankfully it’s not!
What a game changer for me. Thank you for sharing a simple but effective program.
I’m so excited to continue another week with this plan! Thankful Stephanie
