When I was 56 pounds overweight, I was the heaviest I had ever been, and let me tell you it didn’t feel good at all.

Not only did I hate the way I looked and my confidence dropped to an all time low, and I also hated the way I felt.

It’s hard work carrying all that extra weight around every day and it makes you a lot more exhausted. Which is hard because I was eating foods which completely zapped my energy at the same time. So needless to say I didn’t end up doing much exercise.

I also noticed other things that really bothered me, like I couldn’t crouch down any more. My legs were too fat and my thighs rubbed together so much I wore away all my trousers on the inner legs all the time.

I could also feel the fat on my back getting in the way when I twisted to the side. I just wanted all this fat off my body.

And not only did I feel really sick, so sick I could barely get out of bed a lot of the time, but I also had this feeling of dread in my mind.

I was scared about the future.

I was terrified I was heading towards some horrendous disease and it was only a matter of time.

I don’t usually like to focus on the negatives, but we can’t hide from the fact that being overweight is actually linked to some pretty serious problems.

While we still have much to learn about the link between weight loss and cancer risk, people who are overweight or obese should be encouraged and supported if they try to lose weight. Aside from possibly reducing cancer risk, losing weight can have many other health benefits, such as lowering the risk of heart disease and diabetes. Losing even a small amount of weight has health benefits and is a good place to start.”
