What does the word diet mean to you?
When I talk about my ‘diet’ what I’m really talking about is the foods I eat each and every day.
My diet is the foods that I choose to eat when I’m in complete control over my environment.
So for me, sticking to my diet means I am eating healthy. It’s all about health.

But for most people, when they say they are on a diet, it means something short term, and usually something only connected with losing weight, not necessarily health.
When I ask people about their previous diets and whether or not they were successful they often say ‘Yes, to start with I did lose weight, but when I went back to my normal diet, the weight just went straight on again’.
In today’s video I explain why this is the wrong attitude to take towards dieting.
