How many vegetables should we actually be eating every day?
Government guidelines tell us to eat about five cups of fruit and veg a day, so that’s about two to three cups of vegetables per day that’s recommended to us.

Only actually 8%.
Most of this was actually made up of orange juice and potato fries, which is not really my definition of healthy food.
In fact, people who eat just five servings of fruit and vegetables a day lower their risk of cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and many other health problems.
One study found that people who ate seven or more servings of fruit and vegetables were 42% less likely to die from any cause over the next eight years compared to those who ate less than one serving per day, which is pretty staggering.
Not only are fruit and veg absolutely essential for good health, they are really good at keeping you at a healthy weight, too.
Believe it or not, I wasn’t actually a fan of eating fruit and veg.
I think our taste buds have become warped by too much refined sugar and salty, fatty foods, so we really don’t appreciate how healthy food naturally tastes.
The more you cut out the junk, the more you appreciate the flavour of real food.
I have found ways to make my fruit and veg taste just as delicious as any other type of food.
