I found out about the power of the mind not so long ago, maybe about five or six years ago, just as I had started my business, and I had never ever heard of it before that.

I was reading about how to get your business to be successful and to grow, and I came across a book called, Think and Grow Rich.    

I read this book, devoured it from cover to cover.

I loved the book, a bit hard to read, but I ploughed on, and he had a suggestion where he gets you to write a tiny little business plan, a couple of paragraphs about what your business is and how you’re going to help people, and what you’re going to do to grow your business, and then what the results are going to be, and how long this is going to take, and you put a date.   

It says in the book that you’re to read out this little business plan out loud twice a day.

I did this much to the amusement of my husband.

I thought, I like to try experiments and so many people were raving on about the book, that I thought, might as well give it a go.

I want my business to do well, I want to reach lots of people and help lots of people, and so I started doing this.

I would read it out religiously for six months, and then my business wasn’t reaching many people.

I think for maybe about a year I didn’t make any money, but I kept on and on and on, and believing and believing, and reading out this script.   

Almost overnight, it started to reach millions of people.

I was helping millions of people every month through my website, which absolutely blew me away.

I thought there is definitely something in this, so needless to say, my business became very successful, and I was a total believer in the power of the mind.

I thought, how can I apply this to other areas of my life, not just business and finance and things?    

After I had my second baby, my health plummeted and I had some awful health problems that I struggled – I think I had two years of dreadful health problems – and I really struggled to recover.

I started to read other books, The Power of the Subconscious Mind, and started to read about how you can apply the power of the mind to other things in your life like health, which I desperately needed to do.

I started to create little scripts for my health, and I started to read those twice a day. I got a bit lazy, and I actually discovered guided meditations.    

Guided meditations are basically the same as writing out your affirmations and your goals like, “I am this, and I will achieve this by this date by doing this, and I am this,” boosts your confidence, so you really do believe that you can achieve it.

Instead of writing out, basically, what guided meditations are, you put your headphones on and it’s a little voice in your ear.

Somebody else has recorded it, or you can even record them yourself, and you listen to this.

It speaks to your subconscious mind, and actually helps to change your personality.

Because I got a bit lazy with this, not just a bit lazy, but I was really depressed at the time, and sometimes it’s really hard to think outside of the box.

If your mindset is stuck in a doom and gloom situation, like, “Ooh, everything is so bad and everyone hates me and all this kind of stuff,” then it’s really, really hard to lift yourself out of that, and to even write some positive affirmations because you don’t even want to write them down because you don’t believe them.

It’s like, “I’m happy. No I’m not.”

It feels like a lie that you’re telling yourself, so it can be really hard to even think of the positive words to use when you’re stuck in that place of negativity.   

I found guided meditations really, really helpful for this, and I found this one particular website that I downloaded and listened to all of these guided meditations.

The little voices in your ear, different voices in your left, different voices in your right, and they speak to different sides of your brain, which is clever.

I would lie in bed in the morning and at night before I went to sleep, and I would listen to these guided meditations.   

This particular website that I found, they have all sorts of different categories.

They have big chunks of health categories, they have weight loss categories, they have business and income and finance categories.

They have happiness categories, they have confidence categories, there’s every category under the sun like anxiety.

Everything that you could possibly imagine that you might need help with is on this website, and believe me, I needed a lot of help at the time.   

I was listening to lots of these different categories, and before I knew it, within a month of starting this, everything in my life had completely turned around, everything aligned itself.

I was struggling with my kids, I was even too ill to take them to a childminder or a nursery because I couldn’t even move.    

Somebody suggested a woman to me, who was childminder, this lovely nursery out in the countryside, and I thought that’s going to be a lovely place for my kids to go, but it was half an hour drive away, and I couldn’t manage the drive.

I chatted with her, and she said, “Ooh, well we do have pick up service, and we will actually come to your house and pick up your kids and drop them off every day.”

I thought, this is amazing, so that was that problem solved.

My kids were looked after.   

Next problem was, I need to get myself well.

The right kind of products seemed to come to me.

At the time, I was using a lot of essential oils, and my friend said, “You know, I think you should try this and this.”

I tried them, and it worked amazingly.

Everything fell into place, and within a month I was at the gym.

I had gone back from being flat on my back and not being able to move, to at the gym.   

I really do put all of it down to the power of the mind, the subconscious messages that I was taking in every single day, because it was amazing that everything seemed to align itself.

This a little bit like prayer as well.

If you have a faith, you’re praying to God, and you say, “Pray for this and thank you that you’re going to sort out this problem for me, you’re going to help with this problem.”

It’s a little bit similar to that, and if you really, really believe that your life is going to turn around, then it can do.

The way in which the power of the mind works is that we’ve all got a conscious mind that we make rational decisions like, “Ooh, my body’s hungry, what shall I have to eat? My body’s cold, I need to put the heating on,” that kind of thing.

The subconscious mind is the stuff that’s underneath all that surface level stuff, and it’s the thing that makes us who we are.

It gives us our personality and it really shapes our health, our bodies, our success.

Everything that happens in our life comes subconsciously without us even knowing it.   

When you’re a kid, everything that somebody says to you shapes your subconscious mind without you even knowing it, so imagine how many negative things has been said to you when you were a kid, “No, you can’t do that. You’re not very good at this. You’ve failed at that.”

Even the kids in the playground, they can be so nasty, and everything, you internalise it without even knowing it.    

Before long, you’re telling yourself all these horrible things like, “I’m not good enough, I can never achieve that, I’m not that kind of person, I’m not a successful person. I could never run a big business, I’m too shy to do that, I’m too nervous to do that, I’m too ill to do that, I’m too tired to do this.”

All these messages that you send yourself and you don’t even know, they shape who you are.    

I started to listen to these guided meditations, and like I said, everything completely turned around in my life.

My business went up, I didn’t even recognise myself.

My confidence absolutely shot through the roof.

I started doing videos, I started helping people in so many different ways, and I couldn’t believe it was even me.   

We managed to generate a lot more income, we moved into a bigger house, we had a lot more space.

For some reason, when I moved into the new house, most of my healthy habits stopped for some reason.

I don’t know why, but you know what it is, when you’re in a new space, you’ve got new pressures.

You’ve got a new area and you don’t have the time and it completely goes from your mind.    

In the past I’ve had a bad memory, and things, if they’re not part of my daily habit, then I can forget about them, so I forgot about them.

Two years later, I’m back in the same situation again.

Health has plummeted, business is going downhill, confidence is very, very low, feeling very negative, very down, very moany again.

I’m thinking, what’s going on here? I thought I was a different person, I thought I’d changed, I thought I was a successful person, that my life has turned around.   

Then I suddenly thought, I haven’t really been doing much of this power of the mind stuff, so I started reading this book.

This book is called, Psycho Cybernetics, and I use these little clips.

I’m a bit of a lazy reader, I clip the book open, and then read it.

I always get halfway through a book and then stop for some reason, I’m just that kind of person, I’ve got 100 half finished books.

Anyway, I go off on a tangent.    

I got halfway through this book, and he’s talking about going to hypnotherapists.

I remember, I did this when I was younger and I thought, you know what?

It actually did seem to work at the time.

He says in the book that if you go to a hypnotherapist, you literally have to go every week because you have to keep topping up this subconscious mind because the subconscious mind has already been shaped so much.   

I’ve had almost 40 years of negative input in my life, being negative, being shaped by negativity around me, and I really, really need to bash that out of myself on a daily basis.

I suppose I’m not a naturally positive, successful, happy kind of person, but I am when I work hard on it.

It got me thinking that he’s right, you do need keep working on it, but he said it’s too expensive to keep going to a hypnotherapist every single week, so what’s the solution?

The solution is to listen to one of these guided hypnosis sessions, these guided visualisations, these meditations.   

I have started to listen to these guided meditations again, and I’ve only been listening to them maybe a couple of weeks, and already, I have noticed things completely shifting.

If you’ve seen my previous videos, I had a complete health burnout recently caused by lots of stress and other things, too much going on in my life.

I had been struggling to recover, but I have noticed big changes in the last two weeks.

I really, really feel like everyday, I get a little bit better and better, and I’m doing much more of the things I used to do, so it’s really, really helping.   

I’ve got a much more positive attitude, my husband’s really, really noticed.

He says, “You’ve not got the same negativity, you actually are talking positively about the future, that everything is going to be fine, everything is going to be okay.”

Business has started to pick up, I feel confident again, so it’s all happening, and I truly believe that it is the power of the mind, the subconscious mind stuff.   

I really, really encourage you, if you’ve never, ever worked on this stuff before, give it a try for just 30 days.

Also, weight loss, this is a big thing, a lot of women and men really can’t lose the weight. Often, even though you’re following a healthy diet, and you stick to it religiously, your body shape doesn’t change, week after week after week.

It’s often because of your subconscious mind has shaped your body, and you actually have programed it.   

How many conversations have you had with friends and you’ve said, “I just can’t lose weight, I’m always stuck at this weight.

No matter what diet I’m on, I always stay here, or I keep gaining weight every year.”

Whatever you say, you’re affirming that is going to happen in the future, so it literally has programed your subconscious mind to not lose that weight.   

On these meditations, there’s actually weight loss meditations that you can do.

I remember last time I did this, I did actually lose weight, and I don’t remember changing anything because I was already eating a healthy diet, and I was struggling to get the weight off after I had a baby.

I did actually lose the weight and get down to my ideal weight very quickly after doing this, and it’s amazing.
