OK so, what’s new?
I am applying more of a ketogenic/paleo approach to my diet lately which means I’ve lowered my carbs, upped my fat as I am in healing mode right now.
And it’s working. Every day I feel better and better and I’m pretty sure I’ll be back to normal soon.
Many healing diets focus on lowering sugar even natural sugar and that’s exactly what I’m doing too.
I am hesitant to call these ‘low carb’ because when most people go on a low carb ketogenic diet they end up eating 20 carbs or less each day – and I personally think that’s way too low.

The focus of all meals in my opinion should be an abundance of veggies or some fruit so that your body gets enough fiber and your digestion functions properly.
Without a fully functioning digestive tract, your colon is going to get clogged and this is the cause of a lot of disease in the body.
So veggies are essential!
So let’s not ever limit veggies.
But saying that – there are definitely lower carb veggies that we can eat in abundance like leafy greens which just happen to be a powerhouse of nutrients and contain very little carbs and calories – win win.
So, in my opinion almost all meals should include leafy greens.
And it just so happens that you can’t taste them at all in Green Thickies which is pretty impressive.

Believe it or not, contrary to what we’ve been told – fat burns fat.
Low fat makes us crazy and sick.

Peppermint Chocolate Green Thickie (Low Carb Keto Low Sugar Complete Meal Smoothie)
This smoothie is not very sweet, but it sure is tasty, energizing, healing and a fat burning machine.
- Yield: 2 servings 1x
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 avocado
- ½ cup pecans
- 10 drops stevia or low carb sweetener to taste
- 3 tablespoons cacao powder
- 2 drops of peppermint essential oil or 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1 cup of ice (optional to cool down the smoothie)
- Blend all ingredients until smooth (about 2 minutes)
- Drink straight away or cover and refrigerate
- Keeps for 3 days in the fridge
- Calories: 352 per serving
- Carbohydrates: 13g
- Fiber: 11g
