Control your body or it will control you.
I keep finding this out the hard way.
Why do we think that we can just throw junk into our bodies and expect them to function properly without health problems or weight gain?
Some people say our bodies are like a machine, junk in, junk out.

I think they are a lot more complex than that, but I do believe that if you treat your body with respect, most of the time it will be kinder to you as a result, giving you more of what you want – more energy… better skin… less fat… less overall problems.
Let’s take for example food intolerances. Do you have any?
I mainly have an intolerance to dairy (as most of us do without even knowing it) and basically I am chemically sensitive. Which means that when I start to eat too much junk food and dairy, my body outputs a range of nasty symptoms.
These symptoms often stay the same. For me for years I would get an itchy scratchy clogged up throat, itchy eyes, feel puffy, and bloated, and tired, and run down.
But over the past year or so my body has decided to throw another symptom my way….
I kid you not.
This first happened last year after we went on our first cruise (had sooooo much fun!) I probably had a bit too much fun, as I did my usual trick of eating 5 desserts with my evening meal because they were all free.
Anyway, the week after we got back, the area under my eyes started to become really sore. At first I thought I was allergic to my sunglasses, but now, a year later I realise this is my body’s new symptom when I’ve been eating food it doesn’t like.
After a week I had developed 2 black eyes!
I have never had anything like this before. They were bright red/blue and looked absolutely dreadful.
I had previously made an appointment at my house with a new accountant and forgot about it.
When he arrived I had no makeup on and he looked absolutely horrified when he saw the state of my face.
I tried to explain about my allergies, but it doesn’t really sound believable does it?
My body didn’t like what I was eating so it decided to punch me in both eyes!
My body keeps teaching me the lesson that I do have to look after it. It is warning me to take the control back, and not give the control to the junk food that I eat from time to time.
OK body – you win. This is not a fair fight!

Do you have any strange symptoms that keep appearing time after time?
More often than not, this is your body begging you to give it a break. A detox is in order, and most likely a complete diet overhaul will prevent these problems ever surfacing again.

I am just thankful that I do have all these healthy meal plans that are easy to follow so I really don’t have any excuses when it comes to sticking to a healthy diet.
