Getting healthy is not as simple as it seems. Some people think if you just change your diet and do some exercise that all your health problems will melt away. But what if you tried that and you are still suffering? Here are 10 tried and tested healthy things you can do today to completely revamp your health. Keep reading down to the bottom of the list, there are some things here that may surprise you!
A couple of years ago I got really sick, and I had no idea what was wrong with me or how to get healthy again. I was already eating a really healthy diet, full of fresh unprocessed foods. I was too fatigued to do any exercise. Here are 10 things that I started doing that really helped me make a full and fast health recovery.
1: Cut the processed food out of your diet
As I said, I was already eating healthily, and I still couldn’t recover. But for most people, just changing your diet can make a massive difference to the way you feel. For most people, just cutting out all processed foods and making everything from scratch is a great start. But if you’re worried you might have intolerances to common foods such as dairy and gluten, then a good place to start is with a Paleo diet. A Paleo diet will give you everything you need for a balanced diet, and it will cut out most of the foods that might be causing you problems. 2: Get moving
If you are able to and have enough energy, start doing some gentle exercise every day, such as a 30 minute walk. Your body gets sick by siting in the same place all the time. If you really don’t have enough energy, don’t push yourself just yet. Just focus on other areas first.

3: Get enough sleep
This is the single biggest thing you can do to improve your health today. I have been suffering from awful insomnia for the last 2 years. I would wake up after just 3 hours of sleep unable to get back to sleep again. I felt dreadful as a result of this as I never caught up on my sleep with a baby and toddler to look after. If it’s just a case of going to bed earlier, you must make this a priority in your life. You’ll be amazed at how good you feel.
4: Get spiritual
When you are at a loss to know what to do, pray – ask God for healing and to guide you back to good health again.
5: Enjoy your work
Whether you’re at school or work, try and enjoy what you do every day. If you wake up and dread your day then it’s time to change what you’re doing. How to change? Read this.
6: Have fun
Try and book off some time for fun in your week. Either have some pampering ‘me’ time where you do something that relaxes you and that you enjoy. Or if you have more energy, do something out of the house. You will be very miserable if you don’t make any time for yourself at all. It was very hard for me to do this after I had a baby. I was exhausted all the time. I didn’t want to have fun, just sleep but I couldn’t sleep so it was driving me crazy. This is why sleep is so much more important than anything else on this list, because without it you can’t function and do anything else.
7: Spend time with supportive people
When you isolate yourself it’s very hard to get out of a rut. Spending time with others is so important for your wellbeing. Most people feel better just by being in other’s presence. Other people will be able to offer you support, give you suggestions and help you see the bigger picture when it comes to your health challenges. When I got so ill I stopped seeing anybody as I didn’t want to moan at them all the time. But it’s important to let other’s be there for you. People want to help you. If it was your friend who was suffering – would you want to be able to help them? Let people help.
8: Change your attitude
After sleep, this is probably the next most important thing you can do to really turn your health around. Did you know that your life is exactly the way you expect it to be? You’ve got what you expected and it won’t change unless you start changing your mindset. Do you know that your brain follows the instructions that you give it? Are you constantly saying things like ‘I am always sick’ or ‘I’m just one of those people that seem to catch every bug that goes around’ or ‘I’ll always be overweight’ or ‘I just can’t seem to stop eating too much chocolate’ or ‘I’ll never get organised enough to start a healthy diet’ or ‘I just don’t have the willpower to stick to a diet.’ I’m just as guilty as the next person for doing this. But you have to STOP this negative self talk. If you really really want to change, you must change what you say. This book is helping me overcome my negative self talk, I’d highly recommend ‘What to say when you talk to yourself‘. I am slowly reprogramming myself to have the life I want to have. These habits must be broken!
9: Start using essential oils
This might seem a bit odd in this list. If I had read about essential oils a year ago I would have completely overlooked this step. This is because I assumed I had already tried this and surely essential oils were just nice smelling things that you add to your beauty products? I got this wrong, and it took a lot of persuasion for me to try them. I am so glad I did. They have changed my life!
All disease starts with an issue with your spirtuality. The frequency of the balance of energy is higher than sickness. Is there a magic potion? Yes extreme happiness (ecstatic state) which is the highest vibration and disease can’t exist there. Oils can help you get there.
When you feel down, you start feeling full of aches and pains. Essential oils raise your frequency to that ecstatic state so that you no longer are subject to feeling run down. 10: Increase your earnings
This also might seem an odd thing to have on a list all about health, but I think it’s important. It is a well known fact that the more deprived a person is financially, the worse their health outcomes. So it’s important to raise your level of income so you can afford healthy food, health care, seeing a natural health practitioner, getting tests carried out, natural supplements and Young Living essential oils (once you start using these you’ll understand why I keep going on about them all the time!). So you want to earn more money? Who doesn’t? I wouldn’t have brought this up unless I had a solution for you.
