3 Best Ways To Eat Healthy When You're Too Busy To CookI wanted to share some tips with you for when you are really busy but still want to eat healthy, because it makes you feel GREAT to keep eating healthy, right?!

And we aren’t going to let “being busy” stop us from feeling great, right?!

Well, I have 3 tips for you on what you can eat to stay healthy when you are busy!

1) Smoothies

So fast, just pour some coconut water, rice milk or hemp milk into the blender, then throw in your fruits AND some veggies (spinach, cucumber, romaine lettuce, just to name a few.)

Add some protein if you like (hemp seed or chia seed, or maybe a scoop of hemp protein powder) and some healthy fats (avocado, coconut milk. or the proteins I mentioned before which also have you covered on the healthy-fat front!).

For extra flavor, add some vanilla extract or dash of cinnamon.

I recommend replacing your meals with complete meal smoothies, like my Green Thickies so that you can avoid hunger and still continue to lose weight.  I have literally been replacing 1-2 of my meals with Green Thickies for about 5 years now and I feel amazing.  They also helped me to lose 56 pounds of excess weight too.  Read my story here.

2) Salads

Chop up a bunch of lettuce – romaine or red leaf – and add some spinach. Pile on some other veggies – tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, radishes, sliced beets, bell peppers, onions…whatever you like.

Add some protein. Choose pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, cooked organic chicken breast, kidney beans, sprouts, a hard-boiled egg, or salmon or tuna.

Make a quick dressing with stone-ground mustard, olive oil, and a couple sprays of Bragg’s Amino Acids (or just a bit of sea salt). Toss it all together and eat.

If you chop the veggies in bulk you can make a couple salads at a time, don’t add the dressing to them yet, and they usually last a couple days.

3) Know where you can get healthy take-out

This could be from a nearby restaurant or a healthy take out.  Just make sure you ask them about ingredients first as they tend to hide all kinds of nasties in take away food.  

 

If you can also find somewhere to buy pre-prepared healthy deli food then that’s also a good option too.  Make sure you check the ingredients list first.  

No, it’s not quite as cheap as buying and preparing it yourself, but if you are a busy person (OR you just don’t enjoy cooking) and would just spend the money on junky fast food or pizza delivery, then it’s a much better value.

It’s always the small habits that add up.

Don’t let yourself fall back into old habits that cause you to not feel so great!

I actually eat methods 1 and 2 most of the time.  I am very busy with my business and two very young kids who keep me on my toes.  My kids adore my Green Thickies but they draw the line at salad – and I love how good salad makes me feel.  So I tend to drink Green Thickies for 2 of my meals and a salad for my evening meal a lot of the time.  

It’s actually really fast doing this.  I timed myself the other night and I managed to throw together a healthy salad while my Green Thickie was blending.  Wow, just 2 minutes and I had a whole day’s worth of food for myself.  

I am currently in the middle of a 28 Day Leaf System challenge where I stick to The Leaf System 100% for 28 days and I am going to share how much weight I lose.  To make it easy for myself I’m mainly eating Green Thickies and salads so I know I will definitely stick to it 100%.  Otherwise it can just get too complicated. 

Plus my meals taste amazing so I am enjoying every bite – and feeling full of energy!
