Dairy free milk is not just for Vegans!
These milks are healthy and nutritious. Did you know that making homemade milk from nuts, seeds or grains is one of the best ways to increase the amount of vitamins and minerals in your diet?
Some of the benefits include support for cardiovascular system, healthy weight, lower belly fat, diabetes prevention, hypertension, cancer, and inflammation.
By now I hope you have heard about the risks to health from eating dairy. And if somehow you missed how bad dairy is for your health, you might want to watch this video below:

So now we know why we shouldn’t be eating dairy, why should we waste our time making homemade dairy free milk? Why not just go out and buy it in the store?
There are two reasons I prefer to make my own milk rather than buy it:
- Most dairy free milks contain harmful additives and preservatives to stabilise the milk and make it more tasty and addictive so you buy more of it.
- All of the nutrition is lost during the pasteurisation process. If you make your own milk you get an abundance of nutrients that you just don’t get by buying your milk at the store.
And best of all homemade dairy free milk tastes absolutely delicious. Once you try these recipes, you’ll find it hard to go back to regular milk again.
10 Best Dairy Free Homemade Milk Recipes
The Basics
All of the milks are started in the same way. You will only need a few items to make them.
Equipment Needed:
- Nut Milk Bag
I recommend this nut milk bag.
- Jars
- Blender
I recommend a high speed blender for making your own nut milk like this. Get a special deal this month by clicking here.
To Prepare each milk you will follow these steps-
1) Soaking
It is not necessary to soak nuts and seeds before making milk out of them. But if you do soak them it will make them easier to blend and easier for your body to digest.
Each nut, seed or grain will soak for a different amount of time.
To soak the nuts or seeds, add them to a bowl and cover them with pure water and 1 teaspoon of salt for the time listed below:
Soak for 8-12 hours
- Almonds
- Hazelnuts
- Walnuts
- Pumpkin Seeds
- Sesame Seeds
- Sunflower Seeds
Soak for 2-3 hours
- Cashew nuts
- Rice
No soaking time needed
- Brazil nuts
- Macadamia nuts
- Hemp Seeds
- Pine nuts
- Pistachio nuts
- Coconut
- Millet
After soaking the nuts, drain them and rinse them with pure water.
Now you are ready for the next step.
2) Blending
Add water and blend soaked ingredients in your blender. Blend until smooth, usually about 2 minutes. See below for exact recipes.
3) Straining
Strain ingredients through a nut milk bag and twist bag to remove all the liquid.
4) Add ins
Add in extra ingredients like dates, cinnamon, ginger, Turmeric etc….(More on this later)
5) Storage
Store in glass jars for up to a week.

Get results like this...
Hi Katherine,I just wanted to tell you I completed the 7 day detox and I feel so great.
I have lost 6lbs, do not feel like I need more my morning coffee, the flushing of my facial skin from rosacea has dramatically reduced and I am so excited to wake up each morning and make a green thickie for breakfast!!
I am a stay at-home, homeschooling momma of 3 littles and at times so busy I would forget to feed myself!
I would go most of the day without eating and then snack on random things.
I gained 60 pounds the last 6 years during pregnancy.
I have lost 30lbs but recently plateaued and have felt so frustrated.
I’ve tried everything from paleo and keto to the point where I didn’t know what to eat or how much and felt like even eating fruit was bad for me which thankfully it’s not!
What a game changer for me. Thank you for sharing a simple but effective program.
I’m so excited to continue another week with this plan! Thankful Stephanie
