1) Avocado

This superfood is full of good monounsaturated fats called oleic acid which are a fatty acid like those found in olive oil.  

Adding an avocado to your smoothie or salad will make it more filling  because they have 7 grams of fiber!

They have the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and protecting you against heart disease!

2) Black beans

These are the best legumes you can eat for nutritional value and added weight loss benefits.  

A one-cup serving of black beans gives you nearly 15 grams of fiber and 15 grams of protein! This outstanding combination of fiber and protein also helps to regulate blood sugar protecting against insulin resistance.

Black beans will keep you full and help you lose weight and curb cravings!

3) Eggs

Contrary to popular belief, eggs are actually good for you and can help raise “good” cholesterol or HDL! They contain vital nutrients and are loaded with protein which is important for weight loss and building lean muscle mass.

Eggs are very satisfying and will keep you full longer than a carb laden breakfast like a bagel.

They also have the added benefit of protecting against strokes and lowering blood pressure!

4) Grapefruit 

Adding some grapefruit to your meal will help to balance your insulin levels.  This means your body can more efficiently use food for energy rather than storing it as fat.

Grapefruit also contains protein and fiber and is very hydrating helping to fill you up and fight cravings.

5) Almonds

Eating this heart healthy nut is one of the best things you can do to lose weight. It also protects you from gaining weight when consumed as part of a healthy diet.

Almonds contain monounsaturated fats that protect your cardiovascular system. They have the added benefit of helping you to eat a healthier diet overall.

Studies show that when almonds are added to the diet the consumption of unhealthy foods containing trans fatty acids,sodium, cholesterol and sugars actually decreased!
